VOLUNTEER’S DAY
It was a day worth concluding the year.
“Volunteers of Yogiraj”, as our mentor Aparnaji puts it, form the family of Rejuvenation, a place where one can discover their true unapologetic self and may just find spiritual awakening too.
So to acknowledge those who made it all possible and to re-experience the simple joys of existence itself, all of us collected at a farmhouse, provided much lovingly by another volunteer, Mr Ashok Rastogi and Mrs Om Lata Rastogi.
Whole families with kids and spouses came out of the city on a cold, foggy winter day hoping for the sun.
The event started with placing the portrait of the beloved Guru under a huge peepal tree right at the centre, a perfect place indeed. After Guru Vandana led by Aparnaji, we moved to Yoga and Pranayam session. Guided by Shivani, people moved to the rhythms of Shivoham and Shiv Tandava Strotra on colourful yoga mats. Various yogasanas and breathing exercises infused us with much required warm-up.
After a break of lovely tea-break and finally welcoming the sun, we moved to the highlight of the day, Volunteers’ Felicitation Ceremony. Our President, Mr. Sameer Nevatia addressed the audience by reminding them that we should give back to the nature as much as we can. Then each volunteer was called upon stage and bestowed with scarf and titles personally chosen by Aparnaji, who explained their contribution to Rejuvenation. Then Mrs. Kumkum Khosla was called upon to do the same our two pillars, Aparnaji and Sameerji. It was indeed a happy and proud moment for all.
It was fun and games times now. As some people took to colouring patterned mandalas under the sun, others went for an exciting game of Treasure Hunt! Chaos and laughter spilled in the farmhouse as the Hunt culminated in a fierce Tug-of-war. Soham Nevatia, Chehak Malhotra, Vedanshi Nevatia and Devanshi Jain organised all the fun games for everyone.
After enough activity, delicious food was prepared and served by our beloved volunteers. Some of the notable delicacies, beside others, were Malai makkhan, Walnut cake, hot Pullov, Dhania aloo, Kachori sabji, bhuni shakkarkandi etc, topped and Guru Prashad – a Rajasthani Delicacy made by Aparnaji . Special thanks to Namita Kakkar and Ritu Singhal for all the food arrangements. Music was handled by Shalini Malhotra and Photography was done by Soham Nevatia.
With full stomachs and beautiful mustard fields in the backdrop, 2019 for Rejuvenation ended with full hearts indeed.
